Itinerary

Day 1: Exploring the Sacred Valley of the Incas

We will start our journey early from Cusco and head to the Sacred Valley, located 30 km (18.6 miles) from Cusco. Our first stop will be the town of Pisac, where we will explore its famous archaeological sites and artisan market.

In the afternoon, we will continue to the town of Ollantaytambo. Here, we will visit its impressive archaeological complex and learn about its history. We will end the day by taking the train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes, arriving in time to rest and prepare for the next day’s adventure.

  • Maximum altitude: 2,792 meters (9,160 feet) in Ollantaytambo.

Day 2: Machu Picchu & Huayna Picchu

We will wake up early to take the first bus to Machu Picchu. The guided tour of the Inca citadel will begin at sunrise, allowing us to discover its main structures and learn about its history.

After the tour, we will ascend to Huayna Picchu (if you have reserved it). This climb offers breathtaking panoramic views of Machu Picchu and the Urubamba River—an unforgettable experience. Afterward, we will return to Aguas Calientes for lunch.

In the afternoon, we will take the train back to Ollantaytambo, from where transportation will take us back to Cusco. This concludes our adventure through the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu.

  • Distance traveled: 9 km (5.6 miles) total, including Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu (if applicable).
